Sitting so long it could be just 'skunky' fuel issue or could have contaminated the MAF.

Im going to try to live data it when the weather clears up a bit and check the maf when its messing up. I did look at the data from it last night after I got it home but it was after it had sat for a bit and was running fine again at that point. The maf numbers looked normal then of course.

If I was younger I would add a fuel filter access door to that stupid shield thing. There is no excuse for a setup like that over the fuel filter.

I've been there, hate when that happens. Monitoring/checking fuel pressure might be helpful.

Ive got a fuel pressure gauge but checking it while messing up will be tricky but not impossible.

It's the same panel on the 3.0d but being a diesel you have to change the fuel filter every second or third oil change. At least the filter only has two lines (in/out) but that "access" panel is still a real bugger....
