Analog vs Digital DSP (Grom Install)

My 2005 4.8is has MK4 Nav w/ CD Changer and DSP.

I'm trying to see which GROM I want to install and removed the CD changer to check some stuff out but I came to realize that my DSP (although it's working via the nav menu and can change the EQ) did not have the coaxial cable's connected nor is it present?

I can see my amp has the coaxial input but nothing is connected to it and the CD changer has not coaxial at all.

The MK4 DVD has coaxial as well but nothing is connected to it either.

According to Grom's PDF, MY2002+ should have digital DSP with the coaxial connected? Am I not understanding this correctly?

Earlier X5 had true DSP, later X5 has analog DSP. I think Grom made a mistake and should have stated up to MY 2002 has coaxial DSP.
You should have a 6 pin connector in the back and that is where you plug the Grom too.

Yes I ended up physically checking.

Although it has the coaxial on the amp it's not connected.

Is digital DSP better than analog?

Why did BMW downgrade then?!

If you like a true digital experience than Digital DSP is what you want.

BMW found out that it was cheaper to build the same option than to provide multiple options.

Don't know since my X has the DSP system with the coaxial cable from the amp to the CD changer.
