Cam Position Sensor (exhaust) help.

Changed the Intake Sensor and tried to change the Exhaust side; it wouldn't fit.

Current sensor pictured on the left; new one on the right.

BMW part# is $500.00+ at Autozone.

The correct part number could hook me up big time.

PS My X5 takes the larger fuel filter (earlier version off the assembly line).

Thx

I was leaning on my signature block for my year and model #...

2002 X5 3.0i

My fuel filter is listed for pre-March, 2002 vehicles, so I'm guessing my x5 is pre-Mar 2002.

Again, its the exhaust (right) side cam position sensor.

Thx

Thanks!
I believe that is the same number I took off the existing sensor; reinstalled it..

Images on line can be deceiving, but none of them serm to be stepped down like the sensor in the car.

Fun. Thanks again for the help

Use only BMW brand or VDO.

I usually use rmeuropean.com.

I bought both my intake CPS from Amazon for about $100.

They were marked with pretty clear marks from the subcontractor BMW uses and the instructions were in German. Also they worked flawlessly.

BMW e39 z3 e46 e53 CAMshaft position RPM Sensor OEM Brand NEW with 1yr WARRANTY https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AEY13P8..._bnDoCb11351SQ

If the ad says OEM it has to be or you can send it back. The probkem with Amazon ordering is the identical ASIN will be sold by different vendors so it's a crap shoot if you'll get an honest one.

I like to try to find the same vendor once I'm satisfied.
