Dinan Exhaust Owners Question (Low Hanging Fruit?)

Simple question... do your mufflers hang low? Mine seem to be about 1-1.5" too low and are interfering with my "new" aero kit bumper. I seem to remember them being too low on my 4.8is bumper as well and deforming/wearing the exhaust trim rings around the tips a little bit.

Or... are my exhaust hangers just getting tired and needing to be replaced? I can't see them sagging 1" without being torn, but I guess it's a possibility. Let me know your experience. Pics of your tips/bumper from the rear would help out immensely as well.

Many thanks. Hoping to wrap up this aero kit install in the next few days. Spoiler alert, I think it looks gorgeous. But I might be biased.

Thank you for that! Helps a bunch. At least now I know where it SHOULD be in terms of fitment. Mine has always sat low. Now to see how to go about fixing it... wish I had a welder here.

That's just a vicious rumor, I'm going to have my wife swear to that...

not sure if this was on your radar, but your exhaust cutouts is missing the `trim ring` on both R/L

Ha, I actually noticed after I posted this picture (which is from the classified thread I bought it from). It’s at the shop for the next couple weeks. I’m gonna order a pair so I’ll have them when it gets home.

I was super tempted to make a ball joke... but figured I'd set it up and allow someone here to bring her home.

I fixed the "problem." Thanks again burninator for the pic. A half an hour with the torch and 5lb mini sledge persuaded the mounting bars on the mufflers into a more appropriate position. Doesn't look like the back of this X has any damage... I think the guy using the exhaust jig that day was just having a bad one. LOL or decided NOT to use the jig.

Happy to be of assistance!
