That is correct. Now that I've cleaned out all of the lines, my main concern is getting cylinders 5 - 8 firing. I pulled the plugs and there had oil on them so I cleaned them up, turned the engine over a couple times to blow out any extra oil, wiped everything down, put the plugs back in and tried starting it only to have it only run on the 1st four cylinders so i pulled two plugs again and they were dry so I'm going to check them for spark and also do a compression test this evening to see if that side of the engine is F**ked or not.

I got help checking to see if there was any spark and there was no spark at the plug. There is power going to the coil plug when you turn the ignition on but no spark from the coil. There has to be a switch that tells the coil to send spark to the plug...

There is - it's called the DME.

It seems like the whole bank is shut down?

Did you clear the codes when you pulled them? DME could be in cylinder shut down protection?

Your original error code list include misfire codes for cylinders 5,6,7,and 8. Are these the cylinders that had the oil on the plugs and now aren't firing at all? Have you checked the coil ground straps etc.?

This is how I bought my X5. I ended up putting another CCV unit in verses deleting. My X5 drove fine without it. Not sure how long it was driven like that though.

Sounds like you might have gotten lucky. Mine this that last year and detonated the engine. Needed a whole new motor. Started to have similar symptoms again. This year. Was told to drive it at highway speeds much more often. Need to get ccv checked as soon as possible. Hope yours works out.

You are correct. I haven't yet checked my coil ground strap but then again I haven't messed with it either. My buddy figures there's a possibility, since the timing chain tensioner is run by oil pressure, the loss of oil pressure i had on the highway may have slacked off on the chain tensioner and the timing could have jumped a tooth or two...

I checked out the orange diaphragm in my CCV and it has a small rip in it so I ordered one off of Amazon but it won't be here for awhile.

I had cleared the codes after cleaning the plugs but it still ran like shit. We'll do a compression test tomorrow and see what answers that brings.
