Need suggestions on mounting a switch

Anyone have some pictures or links to pictures of where they mounted a switch in the interior. I need to decide where to mount the switch for my a/c mod. You would think it would be something easy to google to see what others have done but I keep coming up with zilch.

I want to find a spot that doesn't stick out like a sore thumb and looks decent.

A number of years ago on a "just in case I need it" I bought a remote controlled automotive switch. Small remote attaches to you key chain. Just spit-balling.

Im running the wires now I just need to find a place to mount the switch.

I guess Im going to drill a hole in the panel that goes under the steering column down low. Shouldn't be visible at all unless you put you head down there. I cant find anywhere else Im willing to drill that wouldn't ruin the looks in the cabin area.

I'll save the drilling to the last step in case someone comes up with a cool spot to put it.

I have mine for the exhaust to the left of the column under the headlight switch. But it's a pretty small switch. Not sure what the one you are mounting looks like.

That works and I thought about it but the car has a beige interior and the switch is going to stand out like a sore thumb. Your black interior with the black switch is hard to notice.

Any links to the pics? I couldn't find anything even searching the forum.

Just as well. It's a PITA to run wires to that locale due to the styrofoam sound deadening. If you ditch that it's easy. If you do it like me you have to tunnel through the styrofoam. Makes a decent mess.

Could you install it in the ashtray? The dealers locate the aux 3.5mm jack in there. Or better yet, on the column itself? Either on the bottom or on the left. Would be near invisible and fairly easy to reach.

You can get a beige switch. Or: on the side of the transmission cover it's very empty in there. Bottom or side of the inside of the ashtray cubbie hole.
