These things burn through suspension bits pretty fast. BMW engineering made a big fat vehicle handle and ride extremely well using lots of suspension points with joints and bushings. Side effect is we chew up tires and parts!
The arms in front are 40K and the rears seem to be 60K based on my experience. A lot less mileage based on driver's right foot and the roads we all seem to hit now days.....

That happened to the same guy I mentioned above. One part shifted so much he suddenly had to steer like 8° to the side to drive straight

Did you adjust the springs on the BC coilovers by chance? If you did, then you ruined the pre-load which could cause this body sway... you will have to redo the pre-load which is fairly easy...
PS. I didn't read all the comments so if this was already said, +1

I did recently adjust them but it has been happening for about the last 2-3 months before the adjustments. What makes me think its the alignment rather than the spring rates being uneven is that when the car goes over slippery thin patches of black ice the back will step out and try to align itself and then swing back in when there is grip again. Just ordered an 8 piece rear suspension kit and will install before the next (and hopefully final) alignment. |

I have seen it be any of the above.
I bought the tool for the ball joint but didn't buy the bushing until I do the test for wobble.

Rear ball joints are most of the issues reported. Extreme clunking, one side tire wear, unable to bring camber into specs AFTER replacing all the normal suspension parts, all of theses point to alternate issues.
Start with the normal stuff first
