If you have an LCMIV, it needs to be selected in the OBC oil temp settings. I had reinstalled my iBus app while waiting for the part and had no oil temp after installing the new sensor. The app was defaulted to LCMIII.

I have a 4.8is N62 and Oil temp has never worked for me either. I have spent so much time testing different combinations of settings with no good results.

i have tried LCM IV, Kombi and all other settings but nothing. My oil temp needle gauge in the 4.8is cluster works just fine.

of the people saying it DOES work for them, im curious if its mainly the M54 people and the M62 people that it works for but possibly ythe N62 uses a different configuration that ibus isnt compatible with,.

so is there any N62 4.8is owners that have working oil temp in ibus app?

Never worked for me on mine. If you figure it out, post it up. Would help many N62 owners.

I haven't. Sounds like a loose antenna wire.

I would check those two locations first as they are easiest, but unfortunately, BMW has a very complicated antenna system. You could have a loose wire somewhere else in the system. Do you have a Bentley manual? It shows where all the antenna wiring and the multiplexer it uses are located.

Hopefully it'll show the oil temp - fingers crossed. If not, at least I will get my money back. I'll just do a quick swap (without actually installing it in the sump) and see if it registers oil temp.
So installed the Vemo oil level sensor from FCPEuro and ......nada, still no oil temp with LCM4 etc setting or any other setting. I'm throwing in the twoel and I'll just stick to coolant temp.

While fooling around with oil temp settings, I got the beautiful gong now consistently. I got it by setting the engine speed while cold warning, above the threshold setting, you get the amazing gong.

You also have something else different going on. Your vehicle showing lights, open doors, windows, etc is in the middle of your screen. Mine is at the bottom and very small. Did you change a setting for that or did it come that way?

It came that way, I also tether the unit to my phone's internet so I always have the latest updates. Since I got the unit I've done about 5 updates so far. The unit checks for updates automatically.

you dont want it that way, look at his screen, there is jumbled text misaligned and pushed out of the waytowards bottom of the screen when it is setup like that.

the way it is set from default is the best way.

i have accidently set it that way as well before and reverted back i just cant remember that process, I didn't like it.
