Outer tire wear on passenger side both rear and front tire

Ok so replaced tires about a year ago now, and passenger side wishbone, mechanic too it for alignment but told me rear ball joint bushes were suspect so they couldn't do a proper alignment, so could this issue at rear have lead to uneven wear on one side of car on both front n rear tire? I am gonna get tje ball joints done, install some tires and the get an alignment, but am curious...cheers

andrewwynn will become famous soon enough

Spot check your alignment with a string.

Tie a toothpick or nail onto the string and hook it into the tread, wrap the string from behind the back to in front of the front tire.

The string should be at the height of center of the hub.

Now, wedge a 1/16 in..(1.6mm) spacer between the string and tire on the fattest part of the front side of the front tire.

The alignment is correct if the front edge of the fattest part of the sidewall is 1/16" closer to centerline. (Both front and back). The string not tight enough to hold the spacer on the back wheel.

The spacer is the bright green under the string at the bottom of the photo.
