2002 bmw x5 3.0 no throttle response
The COLOR of the wires are the same by function. Pin 5&3 are the motor on a 2002. You said the DME was replaced and also the throttle body. Check the wires by color and by pinout. Also there is confusion of which is the throttle motor v throttle sensor on the wire diagram I'm not sure you have the right pins figure out. I would try to match the color and purpose to determine correct pin.

I think your right...
I bought the dme ,ews , key and ignition on eBay all together. the description is for a 2002 BMW X5 . Can put an 2001 dme BMW in and keep the same ews and key? Or do they have to be changed together? |

Those three have to go together that's why they are sold as a matched set.
It feels like you have a 2001 throttle body on a 2002 car and look how the pinout is radically changed. I think you can pull the pins out of the connector and rewire the throttle body connector if I'm correct but you can check the voltage on the pin 3&5 vs 4&6 before to make sure. Fortunately sending motor signal to the sensor will not likely cause a problem but I would measure the Ω across the two sensor wipers to check them before trying to run the engine. I think you are close. Find the right wires by color and function. Trace from the throttle body to the DME Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

So I have connected 6 wires with pin connectors and extended the pin from the connector that on the throttle body. This will allow me to move the wires to the pin on the female connector on the harness from the dme.
This was confusing when I started looking at the schematic pin numbers and it doesn't match the wire color the pin is connected to. Since the connector is keyed and the wires can't move in the connector. I connected the wire color to the pins on the throttle body connector and didn't look at the pin numbers. Is this the best way to do this? I think I have a 2002 wire harness in a 2001 car...😭 I hope I explaining this well. I put some pictures up later. |

I can usually pull the pins out of the connector and rearrange them. Send a close up of the actual connector.

Nope. They are molded in :-( you will have to cut and splice.

will pins 4&6 have voltage when the gas pedal is pressed?
her are the wire by color and function from DME to throttle connector for 2001 pinout; pin 1 = BRN/VIO => DME (sensor signal) pin 19 pin 2 = BRN/BLU => DME (sensor signal) pin 10 pin 3 = BRN/WHT => DME (throttle positive) pin 7 pin 4 = GRY/WHT => DME (throttle signal) pin 43 pin 5 = BRN/GRY => DME (throttle ground) pin 20 pin 6 = BRN/WHT {really BRN/BLK} => DME (throttle actuator) pin 44 How do these wire connect to the throttle body connector itself? Cant really go by the numbers inside the connector? Right? |
