Thank for the reply...

I checked the resistance at the pins listed above and got no change when the gas pedal was pressed. I'm thinking it's bad. Is the gas pedal common part that breaks on x5?

I've seen only one other example so it can't be very common

Ok tried a new gas pedal got the same results. Now the fun begins.😃
I guess next is to check at the connect on the gas pedal for voltage.

Any other suggestions would be great...

I would check the wiring on the OTHER end. Bad connection at the DME or a cut wire between.

We had to have the pedal changed not long after we bought the X in '04. It was a CPO but the local $tealership were so inept and prone to washing their hands of problems we just had our indy change it out. Still working so far.

I tone out the pedal position sensor connector to the dme. I found a lot of corrosion on the pins. Any ideas on what to clean them with?

I don't know if you can get "Flash" circuit cleaner in the States anymore but it was used by the Army when I was in and as a bonus you can mix it with OJ and get hammered
