Can I delete my secondary Air System and how

Hey Guys, some time ago I deleted my secondary air system on my E36 M3 and it was quite easy. Is it possible to do on my 4.6is or does it throw all kinds of codes that can't be erased making the vehicle run shitty?
Thanks

Why would you want to do this in the first place?

Yes you can. But you will need to code it out too. They make block offs. Not sure if that requires an engine tune?

Edit: Nevermind, I was assuming m54 question. I have no idea if possible on a 4.6.

How would the government view such removal?

I have replaced the fan motor. Symptoms were very rough idle for a short period of time on a cold start. There were codes. I don't remember if I had a check engine light.
Depending on where one lives and usually who does the inspection it may not and should not pass an emissions test.

^ I think (just guessing) the only place he might have a problem world be California as I've read the refs there can be meticulous with the visual.

But that's just my guess. And not a chance I'd want to take personally.

In Canada we don't have to get our vehicles emissions inspected and signed off on. I'll probably hollow out my cats also. As for getting rid of it, if all it is for is emissions and getting the cats up to temp faster on cold start, one less thing to go wrong with this vehicle is an advantage in my books. Less under the hood also. I may also use that added space to run a larger custom box for a cold air intake.

The secondary air pump doesn't restrict the size or flow of a Dinan cold air box.

Canadian emission standards generally parallel those of the EPA. How does Canada address violations? Are folks on their honor?

I unplugged mine a few months ago from how loud it has been getting. I assume it went bad but it was hurting my ears in the cabin. Sounded like it was going to blow. I will pick one from a yard sometime and swap..

Yep, Unfortunately nothing is enforced here.
