Coding car to lock when parked

Does anyone know whether it’s possible to code the e53 to self lock if left unlocked and unattended (for say, three or four minutes)? My girlfriend keeps leaving our car unlocked on the street, so other than trading up to a younger model which can autolock itself (she’s 44 bless her) - anyone know whether this is possible without going for an aftermarket alarm?

The next gen with idrive has this as an option I think..

Many thanks!

Not possible with coding.

This function is possible with an Android radio and the I-Bus App running with the Riesler USB interface.

I have chosen that my doors will unlock when the E-Brake is pulled, but the choice is available for the gear in 'park'.

Thanks for this - I’ve programmed the car to lock at 5mph when we drive off - but am looking to see if it will lock if my GF forgets to lock the car when she walks away from it after having parked.... (in slightly less cave man fashion - she is usually carrying our 18 month old daughter and a load of bags etc..... so forgets to lock the car too...)

Well.. as long as she forgets one thing, it might well be to lock the car.

I dunno ab an environment that will lock automatically with the ignition off. This would be sooper disruptive if she were to forget, say... the keys lying in the seat.
