X5 4.6is Dies After Start Up

Car basically dies after start up, doesn’t happen it’s a cold start only when the car is warmed up. I was thinking fuel pump or vacuum leak but wouldn’t vacuum leak trigger a check engine light? Fuel filter was replaced about 8 months ago so I don’t think that’s it.Heres a link to the video of the issue. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TOK7bDINClM Also, does anybody know how to open a door that won’t open from the inside or outside, the door handle cable thing must of broke so the door won’t open.

Vapor lock is not something that happens on modern cars. You need to check fuel pressure to determine if fuel pump is supplying pressure.

Your gauge is high enough it's not a siphon jet thing unless also the gauge is reading high (this recently happened to me).

Starts and stalls is a symptom of the IVM. (integrated voltage module).

Thanks for the reply, as for the module your talking about, I don’t think mine has it, only the 04 and up models have it.

When my car behaved like that it was the cam position sensor.

Mine does this too sometimes when warm. I have to give it gas to keep it going then it levels out. Unsure if fuel filter was changed. Replaced the DMTL pump. However, mine is supercharged and prior to rebuilding the blower it was spritzing oil into the intake, not sure if the issues are related.

Wouldn’t that pump cause a check engine light, I’m leaning towards vacuum leak or a bad fuel pump, my fuel filter is only 8 months old so I don’t think that’s the culprit. Also when I come to a stop, my rpms decrease like the car wants to stall but when the AC is on it doesn’t do it.

A vacuum leak with throw an error code/light.

If it's not showing a check engine light and there are no codes, then it's a physical problem like low pressure from a failing fuel pump.

Mine showed the same symptom and I tracked it down to a leaking fuel hose inside the tank where it attached to the pump.

Check the fuel pressure and the bleed down rate after the engine is off. It should hold pressure for a bit.

Mine also does this after it's warmed up. It won't catch itself coming down to idle speed very well unless the AC is on, which bumps up the idle speed by about 50 rpm and it really seems to help. It feels like a vacuum leak issue to me, but i'm in the same boat where I'm not throwing any air/fuel codes, or any codes for that matter. I too will eventually test the fuel pressure.

Do you guys have idle control valve? Could be dirty or faulty.

Engine will run higher RPM when cold would explain why problem is only when warm.

I used foxwell nt510 to set my idle up 25-50 just to make it run smoother at red lights.
