A/C issue

I posted this on the E53 worldwide FB page, just wanted to confirm - or not what I gathered.

My AC is blowing air that progressively gets warmer it goes from left to right. Extreme far left is cool then the center driver vent is a slightly cool then it just gets warmer from there...

I'd thought the heater control valve - but was told it needs to be recharged.

Thoughts?

Start with a recharge as that is cheapest and usually fixes this problem. If it does not it tends to get spendy.

Did you roll the center dash vent selector to blue? Did you switch from defrost to dash vents?

Indeed. Been in an E53 & E38 since 2005.

I guess worst case pull the dash and replace a stepper motor.

I'll start with the recharge.....which is not fun because you have to pull the plumbing off the blower to get to the AC charge point, at which point the MAF goes ape shit and it wont idle, so you have to keep a foot on the gas with RPMS all over.

I wish there was an extension line for the AC charge point (flexible) that i could put on to avoid this.

can confirm I tried the cheaper method and now my MAF is going ape shit, didn't know you had to give it gas a bit while doing this procedure, now I'm going to have to bleed some freon out or possibly replace the condenser, not sure yet as I haven't fully investigated the problem

To be clear, when I say blower I mean supercharger. The Vortech unit and duct totally blocks the charge point on mine.

Wow, really? The charge point on an LCI N62 is on the passenger's firewall. I thought that was a pretty inconvenient place for it... but seems it would be really helpful to you.

Yeah, DINAN fabs a line that literally runs underneath the supercharger and is hidden a bit in front of the passenger tire fender liner. I think Ill be making a line for it to avoid taking this duct work on and off so much - especially since it's not made anymore.
