Must Have Tool for BMW's

I just ordered this after deciding against McGuyver'ing a tool out of something I owned already. I needed something to fit between the Xfer case and crossmember on the wife's e70 for a fluid change. It worked out amazingly. This little stubby 14mm hex could have saved me so much time on my e61 when I was doing the Xfer case fluid on that as well. I made my own tool on that one and it was still too long for this job. I couldn't shorten it anymore as it would not have enough meat left and I'd worry about stripping the drain/fill plugs. Anyway thought I would pass it along. It's made for the fill plug on Jeep transmissions. 10/10 would recommend.

Thanks for sharing!

Is it useful for the E53 too?

Honestly, I'm not sure if it is needed for the E53. I was able to do the front diff, rear diff, and transfer case with the tools I had before. I have not done the trans fluid yet so not sure on that. I can say that it will be useful on the E53 (or any vehicle with 14mm hex plugs) if not required. It allows you to use a crescent wrench/ratcheting wrench rather than just a ratchet but does also allow for the use of a ratchet if there is clearance. Really handy to have in the tool box. IMHO

Thanks. We did the ATF without it and it wasn't a problem on an N62. The drain plug is on the bottom.
