Celebrate a milestone with me...

After 6 months of flexing the 'No' muscle in my brain, I have accomplished a break through on the way through the break through. (Does that make sense to anyone else? )

Today is 100lbs gone day! Points to anyone who can tell me how much HP I've added.

26lbs more to go. And I don't know that I will stop there.

In other news, I am working through an update on the X5 that goes back for a couple months. Like every good E53 story, it's filled with spills, chills, thrills, pills and bills. More on that later.

I'm dying for some ice cream.

Congratulations! Weight loss takes a lot of commitment and effort.

In answer to your question, weight to power is one way to get a general idea of acceleration performance. For example, if you have a 3500 lb car with 215 horsepower, simply divide 3500 by 215 to get a weight to power ratio of 16.28 lbs per horsepower. The same car with 250 hp would have a weight to power ratio of 14 lbs per horsepower.

So considering a 4.8iS as a model, 5000 lbs/355 hp = 14.8 lbs/hp. So at 100 pounds, you picked up 6.75 hp of acceleration!

Congrats P! Always great to achieve a goal whether it is lifestyle or completing the latest maintenance list item on the X5

I reckon you've freed up around 1/5th of a horsepower? lol.....

Cheers

Congratulations!!

The last time I lost more than 100 lbs (1995) I had to pay a divorce lawyer to keep the dependopotamus away....

Anyway you have done an incredibly difficult thing and your willpower will help you in everything you do (except finding free BMW parts)!!
