But it wouldn't be an update without exceeding the goal, now would it? Even if it's a small increase beyond it, here's your TLDR: After 10 months, I hit 130lbs gone today! But I sure as hell did stall. Or what is it they call it? Stagnate? No.. you know.. when you're on a diet and you can't lose.. oh! Plateau! What a stupid word for staying at a *lower* number than you want. Shouldn't it be.. like.. I dunno.. "Vally'ed"? Or... "Low-pleaued"? Anyway.. I got stuck at 210 for like 3 weeks. That's when I started treating cardio like it was a drive in a BMW. Do it. Every day. And do it as hard as you know the body you're maintaining will take it. But, just like an X5, you gotta maintain it. And wouldn't ya know... Damndest thing happened. About 6 weeks ago, I made it to "Onederland!" For the unwashed (or folks who never have to diet), That means I lost my goal of 126lbs by breaking the 200lb barrier! At a weight in the 100's, I'm in ONEderland! Weeks later, I learned what a victory lap of pizza, alcohol with friends, and ohhh, so much custard does to your weight loss. I stayed over 199 for another 6 weeks. But today, I was a little less than 195lbs. You wanna know what that feels like? I'll give ya some examples:
And finally: It was last October when my doc looked at my #'s and said I should come back in 3 months instead of the normal 6. My numbers were so off the charts, they made bigger charts. I was headed to the grave more quickly than was prudent for the things I have yet to do. On this Monday's visit a year later? Doc: "Look, I know you want to keep losing weight but you need to know: You're considered healthy. You're...
This is as good a time as any to be certain you guys know: This thread and these responses, and even some of you guys remembering that I am working on this in other threads means a lot. My reason for keeping people so close to this was really to keep myself accountable. I knew if I bragged THIS much to people I care about and total strangers, I would have no choice but to explain why I couldn't keep it off if I do what so many others do. My doc explained that only 2% of people who have lost the weight I did actually keep it off a year later. And so, fellas, a new journey is upon us. But the strategy returned unexpected, and fully joyous results. So many folks not only cheered me on, they offered *advice*. So many folks gave everything from exercise to head games that I could play on myself so I would keep going. You know what I learned? Everybody *doesn't* suck. Some of that everybody are some of the very best things that can happen in a man's life. It's been at once the most confidence inspiring and humbling experience I have ever walked, ran, and barely eaten my way through. Thanks, fellas. And THAT, yes ALL of that, is all I have to say about that!

Outstanding, congratulations and thanks for sharing!
I myself am down 50 lbs over the last 2 years, but have been backsliding recently, blaming it on a couple recent stressful events. Your post has actually been very encouraging to me, so thank you! And again, congratulations! This is no easy feat.

Nice work Prop. No surprise everyone is so proud of you. It's a very difficult thing to undertake.
I tend to yo-yo myself every year or so by 30-40lbs. Working on getting back to the bottom of the string now (down 12lbs). You're an inspiration.
