Where to find...

So I’ve been looking on the internet for two different things, and I figured someone else has to have this problem too, so maybe we can use this thread as a place to point people in the right direction!

So the two things I am looking for are:
1) Full Gloss black grill inserts, both the inner and outer pieces.
2) Color Matched (or able to be painted) trim to replace the black plastic that I find absolutely atrocious and would like to remove as soon as possible.

Bimmian has gloss black 2-piece grilles for 40% off right now. I just placed my first order with them yesterday (shipped today)...so I cannot vouch for them 100% quite yet, but did not buy grilles anyway. Just an option.

Good luck.

Maybe someone else also can chip in here but I've never seen these items in anything other black, sorry.

I really like them...

You'll have to paint your original trim pieces. They aren't sold in anything but the OE black color.

So how would I achieve the metallic look that the actual body has? Would the paint itself take care of that or not?

Talk to a local paint/autobody shop.

What Zulu said. Tell your body shop you want to body color match it. They can take care of the rest. You'll see e53 X5's running around with that done every now and then. Can look good on the right colors. Strange on others.
