Used my tire machine for the first time today. Pretty cool. But I definitely need practice with stiff mud tires.

The 295s fit nicely on an 11" rim!
I only mounted one tire so far. Haven't test fitted it yet.

Got them mounted and installed today. They look so look much better than the stock 17" skinnies. They ride great too. Havent driven too far yet but so far so good!

They look very good! Nice set of wheels, always been one of my favorites on an e53 or e70. I want a tire machine now, thanks for that.

Just to summarize, 295/40R20 Michelin Latitude Tour HP on 20x11 ET37 style 214s all the day around. No spacers, no rubbing. Depending on tire, a 315 may squeeze in with no spacer but just depends on brand and styling. I haven't driven enough to say much on handling.

I wish I had the 4.8is trim.. But glad I have the M54 engine. I only payed $2k for this car, so it's not perfect but it's in overall good shape. Black interior. I wasn't in the market for another car but since I'm a car hoarder I couldn't pass it up.

Thanks much! I'm stoked. My wife says she doesnt see the difference...

If you do enough tires, a tire machine worth it! Even just for convenience. I hate taking my cars to any shop. This one is the Derek Weaver W-898XS and so far it's awesome. Easy to set up and easy to use.

And after the wife hears you say that you better hope she doesn't push you down the stairs

Question: Did the Style 214s require hub-centric rings to get them centred on the e53 hubs correctly?

No, not the 214 rear wheels.

No, not spacers - "hub-centric rings" - to centre the Style 214 larger hub bore over the e53's small hub centres.

The E53 has 72.6mm hubs and the Style 214s have 74.1mm centre bores, so they don't centre on the hubs correctly, potentially leading to bad shakes etc.

You can get "hub-centric rings" to correct for this, like these from ECS Tuning...

Although here's something interesting... apparently the E70 X5M, the E61 X6 and E71 X6M all use the larger hub on the front but the smaller on on the back!

So I guess if the wheels came from any of these cars, then only the fronts would need hub-centric rings...
