n54B30 exhaust manifold interchange?

Are the exhaust manifolds interchangeable with an M54B30?
I'm looking at doing something creative with the exhaust on my 2001 and see a deal on some SS Headers. I plan on modifying a bit but if the flanges don't line up it won't be worth it.

Check on real.oem. It looks like E53 X5 and E39 6cyl share the same exhaust manifolds, but E46, Z3, E60, X3 applications of M54B30 are different.

I did check on realoem. There is only a brief period where E39 5 series will work. Assume for a minute the only question is now "Will the flanges and their geometry interchange?" I anticipate having to do some modification to the overall fitment.

An easier way would be to have a decent pipe bending shop take your custom geometry and weld them up to flanges you milled by using your old set as templates.

The mill work can be had for cheap at any VoTech nearby (think student project)

So you are saying the flanges on an N54 are different than an M54? That's the information I'm looking for.
We have lots of fabrication resources available just not someone who can answer the flange question.

They don't look to be that far off but since what I can look at doesn't show the mechanical drawings I can't say definitely.(sorry)

That's why I was suggesting that you use the flanges for your engine as a template and go to a pipe bender shop and make your fully customized set since you were planning on having some mods done even if the flanges were correct.

Push come to shove pick up the set you are after and verify between the two. If not take them back (hopefully not crazy shipping issue)

I also have the option of taking a set off a self serve yard vehicle and cut off the catalytic converters and fab from there.
What I was looking at was a set of headers and then relocating the cats a bit further down stream.
