^Phew!!! Just in time. When we'd see m54's come into the shop needing a DISA we were always worried the pin would be precariously sitting somewhere waiting to fall into the intake runners.

GOT HER BACK GUYS!

Yeah that one was pretty close. The video actually exposed the issues. In the first pass we could hear 3 slight misses in the top of second gear. I think the MAF was the primary cause, however decided to inspect the DISA. I was pretty shocked.

Took her to the top a couple times in second gear and no missing. They were definitely due, there was a moderate power gain.

The blow off is pretty nasty on this build. Remember there is a MAF, so it’s not atmospheric.

Anyone agree?

Blow off or blow by?

Is tuning available to make it MAP based vs MAF based?

So Crystal I think you are correct. It would be blow by right?

I did not choose alpha-n because of smog in California. I was able to pass at least twice, which worked out well. Visual was overlooked.

In Texas we still have inspection. I wanted the X5 to able, under any circumstances.

So, if it’s blow by and the microphone caught that release of pressure, I would say the RMS kit it pretty aggressive.

Right?

Does it have a "blow off" valve? I'm more familiar with turbo than supercharger but I would think you would still want the pressure to be released to atmosphere after lift off.

I was asking if you meant blow by, oil/boost making it past the piston rings. Wasn't sure what you were referring to in post 23.

It does, but I think you refreshed my memory that it is a bypass vs blow off. If it were to blow off MAF would detect irregularity, so it puts it back into the system.

I rarely drive the X that hard but I was shocked myself to hear what sounded like blow off.

There is no blow by from the rings, but it’s a bit rich. That’s why I’m mulling of the idea of reprogramming, because how darn hot it get here during the summer.

I just keep hear an old saying, “leave well enough alone”. LoL..

Kinda does sound like a Cummings. It’s gotta be the torque?

Right?

Love the supercharger intake sound.

Come to find out Crystal, I was losing 3lbs of boost during this shoot, faulty valve cover gasket. Plus my adaptations were faulty as well. Bad MAF, bad DISA, and boost gauge failed, causing a severe vacuum leak.

With all the repairs, 11lbs of boost. 14 x 11 = 154. Plus 30hp from the meth. 230 + 154 + 30 = 414. Definitely S62 power.

Tell me more about this diesel sound.
