DIY: BMW M54 PS Hose Tool Trick (18-mm and 21-mm wrenches!)
For those with M54 engines, whether it is E39 5-series, E53 X5, E83 X3 etc., the PS hose can be difficult to remove because the O-ring on the inside sometimes bond with the nipple, making removal very difficult. Sometimes the plastic tabs break and one has to use a dremel to slowly cut the metal fitting. So, I just tried this trick the other day and it works, using tools you already have. - 18-mm and 21-mm wrenches. - A socket and some masking tape to tape the 2 wrenches together where the socket is. - Then use a pair of pliers to gently squeeze, just enough to depress the plastic tab. - Then use the 18-mm wrench to push the hose out to remove it. Very easy...

A bit of brilliance. Wondering if the shark bite tongs would do the same job/
