Did you ever replace the OFH Gasket?
Yes I did last time I did this work and yes no leak I checked all over with my cam first and now everything is down the only place that has oil was under the sleeve between the front diff and the oil pan.

Glad you checked the area BELOW the OFH area.
That is the first place to check.
The OFH gasket job is 1h vs 10h for the oil pan gasket, it makes a huge difference when it comes to diagnosis.

I am posting this photo for future readers (for future reference).
This is to illustrate the fact that an oil leak at OFH area can end up in the area below the interface between the FRONT Diff and the oil pan:

While anything is possible, it's unlikely that oring on the diff is the source of your leak. Is your diff low on fluid? If you have a significant leak, it wouldn't take long for your diff to be noticeably low on fluid. Oil leaks are notoriously hard to pinpoint. You almost seem TOO sure of where it's coming from. I don't know that I've ever been as certain as you seem in this instance. Not saying you're wrong, but I would encourage you to have a healthy dose of self-doubt when it comes to identifying the source of oil leaks.

The OFHG leaks are really too tough to see without some serious disassembly in the area. Also, oil pan gaskets can look like they're coming from many other places. How certain are you that these two areas are not leaking? I know your replaced both, but we all make mistakes and/or you could have received a defective gasket.

If your front diff is noticeably low on fluid, then I would focus there, but if not, I think you have an engine oil leak that is fooling you into something else. Believe me, I've been fooled MANY times when chasing down oil leaks.

AM.

Than you For your detailed reply to my post and for others that interested of the part you addressing as BMW #11421719855
As far as the seal I am attaching photo of it
Yes the diff was nearly empty however nine missing from the engine and that was one of the reasons for dismissing the pan side.
Anyhow I believe that I found the fix and going to post the fix I found that will help others as soon I am back from my test drive and final inspections.
The fix not related to anything been posted that surprised me.
Thank you all and soon be posting the final conclusion god bless

Fixed

I thank everyone participated and tried to help me so fast that I was able to find a fix to the leak from the front differential next to the oil pan.
I started the post by asking for help with a leak coming from the seal between the front differential and the oil pan and was asking if anyone know of a way to avoid replacing the oil pan or the diff.
Before my post I had no reason to suspect anything but that aria as I replaced anything I could when I had the front end on ground the first time. Over that I ran my cam all over just to make sure I will ask the correct question.
Your replies and questions forced me to think “outside the box”
Now anyone interested in doing work that requires taking the front end down the first part it start by unbolting the engine mount and left the engine up and supported from the top and bottom.
Upon conclusion of the work the engine lowered and bolted back to the mounts.
In my case and after three times doing the work over I found out that when I lowered the engine down just near the bolts I started the car and ran the test and had no leak then I lowered the engine fully and bolted them and ran the test again. The oil started leaking again (same spot). I lifted the engine up slowly while the car running till the oil leak stopped.
Later I replaced the engine mounts and ran the test and no leak. Just came back from road test and took the shield down and thank you all “No Leak”
As I stated in my case I believe that the weight of the engine and Two years old engine mount may caused this leak.
I just never thought about this without all your helps god bless you all
I’ll keep testing the car for a week and if any changes I’ll post follow up if not be safe

Just curious how many miles on your X5?

The engine mounts on the M52 and M54 engines are very good, up to 180K or so.
I use only Corteco engine mounts.

136000 and don’t tell me about engine mount LoL one of the reasons that my brain thought about engine mount that my kids destroyed 2 Mercedes 1 BMW and one F150 and flipped Rang-rover and all in the desert trying to “jump” them when they go for days camping. Over that we live outside the city on a farm and they live to use it specially in rainy winter days to play and as usual “daddy” fix it starting from engine mount to springs to engine cut in half by electric pole sporting wire that my youngest went through it trying to do donuts and thank god he still with us talking about it.
You are correct you get what you pay for if you own German car it’s lifetime car it will treat you good if you do same but if you try cutting corners then think about getting...be safe and god bless

Glad you found the reason for your oil leakage.
Also, if you need to change your oil pan gasket again, ive had success with unbolting the pan, lowering it and cutting the gasket to fit. This way you do not need to dismantle entire front end. But you need to use some loctite gasket cement, and be really carefull when positioning the new gasket.
Have fun with your dry x5!

I am lost here...So the OP's engine leaked oil near the front diff on the driver's side because he had worn engine mounts causing the engine to sit a mm or two too low?

So oil was spilling out from somewhere because the engine was too low?

Can somebody help me understand?

I'm confused too. If your diff was way low on fluid, then you have a leak there - either the input shaft seal on the back, the output seal on the left, or that oring you originally suspected is leaking. There's also a seal on the passenger side where the right axle attaches, but that's not where it's leaking apparently.

Based on this latest info, it sounds like diff fluid is leaking when the engine tips to the left (which is shouldn't!) That brings me back to that oring that you originally suspected.

I haven't done it on an E53, but on my E83, it's possible to remove the front diff without dropping the subframe. I'd be doing that to inspect that oring for damage.

The fact it's not leaking after replacing the motor mount means nothing.

AM.
