My wife's car the rain sensor went belly up. When it happened her first click ran as fast as the second click. However when I attempted the rain sensor calibration, it now acts like intermittent wiper. Still no rain sensing but at least a useful function.

Scanner shows no rain sensor.

Has the OP provided a model/model year so that the forum knows what system that is at issue? Can't even be helpful with relay and fuse locations due to no vehicle information...not every E53 is optioned and laid out the same from 2000-2006.

Try pulling the wiper relay and see if that jogs things up (unfortunately can't tell you were to look for it since we have no vehicle model/model year info).

I have a 2002 E53 X5.... so I pulled the fuse/relay it seems to reset itself...
Plus before it started raining and snowing I poured water on the sensor it worked right away

Overboost,
I blocked that slipknot MonikaneR awhile ago although I hope the NSA who is probably watching this site due me posting from the Middle East doesn't find out that he's an ISIS member...
