Carpets are wet after rains..

04 X5....Carpets are soaked after rains...Looked at the rails running down and they seem fine...When I am driving in heavy rain there are no visible leaks in the cabin...
WTF ????

My 02 was the same. Both the sunroof drain tubes running down the A pillar were kinked.Easy fix.Try the search option, there should be enough reading on the subject to keep you going for an hour or so.

Also, look at the door liners behind the door cards. If anyone has messed with windows/door locks they may have disrupted them and it allows water in.

... and while you're at it, you might want to take a look at the rear wells to the left and right of the trunk space. I.e., below the rear fuse panel on the right side, and below the stereo/nav/etc. on the left side. Those wells can get flooded when the rear sunroof drains (all 4 corners of the sunroof drain to all 4 corners of the car) have a problem.

On my 2001, the fronts are still fine, but both rears had the common failure where after a long time the hose running above the headliner shrunk/shortened enough to pull free of the hose fitting, allowing water to spill.

If you’re still having issues, I would highly recommend you check where your cabin filter goes in under the hood. If those channels aren’t placed back correctly and the strip of rubber is snugly fit you’ll get water down in the driver and passenger floor EVERYTIME it rains.
