Time for me to go...... into a 2018 x5m.

Well it’s that time. I will be posting my x for sale soon. Waiting for premier membership to show up in my profile again. Actively looking to get a low mileage 2018 M to replace this beast.

Am super excited, and sad at the same time. 8 years in the stable, without anything major retarded breaking. And anything that did break was fixed properly, with OE parts. Only aftermarket shit on the car are the front axles.

Anyway, anyone around nyc wanting to take a look, hit me up before I post it up. Fully functional everything working 109k miles. Looooooots of receipts and old removed parts that still have life in them. Non smoker, no accidents, no paint. Snow wheel set, roof racks, a complete black interior with door cards, e53 specific tools, including AGA valve stem tool kit. Yes, I was planing on doing them when the blue Smoke finally showed up. ZF lifeguard 6 fluid for your next trans fluid change. I have to go through it and make a real post.

The bad. 3 dings. Very minor. 1 ding with a scratch due to my being retarded and dropping a plywood sheet against car. Will try to have pics of it. Rims were refinished due to severe curb rash. Headlights will need to be buffed. Power Steering leak. I replaced the lines about a year ago. Seems to leak with super cold temps. I haven’t really investigated yet, but feel like I need to tighten the bolts, it’s just been super freezing to be on the floor right now.

Anyway, real post coming up soon.

Be very, very careful with the F85/F86 M...once you get into them, there's no turning back. You'll be taking the longest circuitous route to anywhere, even to the nearest store. They handle better than any M3 and are superfast - amazing and solid vehicles.

Post up your new ride at https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/fo...play.php?f=509, a very active forum for F85/F86.

Ty guys. Still looking. When spending so much bread I want to make sure I find exactly what I want.

And yes. I drove it, and that changed my mind about holding onto the e53 any longer lol. People were telling me it doesn’t feel as nice, and doesn’t steer as nice, but that’s all bullshit. It’s crazy nice. And crazy fast.

My mech is awesome and tells me all the time that the e53 is worst designed X5 to date. All successors have learned to be better designs (not necessarily more reliable (ahem, turbos), but better handling, faster, convenient for driver...)

The head mech at the shop I was at used to say the same thing. I think the only thing the E53 has going for it (over later chassis) is looks. It is a great vehicle to drive, don't get me wrong, very akin to the e39 in feel. It's just not as capable as it's successors in terms of comfort, refinement, and technology.

The X5M is a whole different kind of animal. Like comparing an e60 555i to an e60 M5. Wife wants an e70 x5m, and will have it eventually. Good luck and enjoy the G05. I'm sure it's a riot.

Actually the 2018 X5M is F85. G05 M version is F95 as the 2020 X5M version. The new X5/X6 models are pretty ugly in my opinion.

They always seem ugly in the beginning. Somehow they grow on you and all of a sudden you must have one.

Anyway. Been comparing these trucks around. Seems like it would be worth about $11k Mint. Figure the 3 dings, and VSS will have to be done eventually, I’m asking for 8k. Those dings aren’t a real problem by the way, they just make the body not perfect. I still didn’t swap back in the rear cream leather, so pictures not ready. But you can always click on my profile pics to see it if anyone wants it. I’m pretty much letting it go for the taxes on the new truck. Hahahah. So sad, but worth it in my opinion.
