lost power steering after performing skids and donuts

Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone has encountered this issue before?

Seems like the low-speed steering boost didn't come on at low speeds, felt like the car was stuck in the high speed steering boost mode.

I had to restart the car to get the assisted power steering back, maybe the speed proportioning valve was stuck ? Time for a steering fluid flush ?

Pull codes see what it has in the module. Typicaly there will be such as loss of power that will kick off certain features.

In your case I'm betting you confused the computer with "impossible" yaw rates and the computer just locked up the steering to direct drive in case it happend from the active steering motors.

That's a likely possibility. Who knows what the programmers coded into the DSC system for any scenario. Even with DSC/traction turned off, there's a permanent background stability control system that activates. I will perform a code scan on the weekend and report if I see anything relevant.

ABS can't be disabled. The DSC button really only turns off the "power on" traction control. (to allow wheel spin). I'm not sure of what other control functions are disabled.

I am curious to see what stored codes Coke back when you scan.
