Many places have had unimaginable failures driving the overall % higher but I fully expect to see problems in California since their homeless population is so high and typhus was already becoming an issue, same for Houston and any other area with a large population of homeless.
Sticking with US numbers only shows that mortality is very low in the USA for Chinese coronavirus and H1N1 Influenza A strain.
^Understand.

We don't know enough in the US yet to know if the numbers are going to trend following any particular country/countries yet. The worldwide figure for annual flu contains those elderly populations as well so thought it's probably a worthwhile comparison to what the coronavirus is doing to those populations. No? Happy to hear input.

I think the biggest problem is that even in the USA Influenza totals are done as an extrapolation since so many don't go to the doctor and testing for the flu is almost solely done upon admission to the hospital and the CDC uses some secret ninja bs to guesstimate the total number of infected and right now almost all people with symptoms are tested RFN for Chinese coronavirus and the numbers are truly being maintained.

Gotcha. I agree. I also think all disease numbers are probably under reported. Gotta "run what you brung" when it comes to the info.

I say this with 100% confidence because many people may have the virus and have few if any symptoms, but nobody is dead without people noticing especially in the "percentages" we are told to expect.... Therefore with a mortality rate already below that of the average flu, people should relax a ton more.

As for the whole thing with China... The Chinese government has been pushing the blame for the virus on America through wiebo/propaganda as noted by many intelligence sources so you can bet you will see many forms of pushback, such as reiterating exactly where the virus started.

Now the part about "Chinese" folks getting beaten and other things etc...

1. These have all been the actions of individual racist dicks and not as was said (stirring up racism against) because that takes a group or a group's leadership i.e. kkk, cair, Trump, Pelosi, Schumer or so on saying find, assault, alienate or whatever to any "Chinese" looking folks and I have not seen or heard of any of that happening.

2. Chinese is NOT a race and with the exception of people like my wife, who is a Naturalized Citizen. People have no claim of hyphenated status unless anyone believes in making a statement based upon skin color? My wife doesn't even use the hyphenated descriptor because... "So people think I'm not truly part of them or that I'm only half the worth of others?"

----------------------------------------------------------------------
About Trump (my opinion only) the economy, jobs, etc are the best they have been in many many years so I'm happy. His tweets are annoying but in some of the cases necessary due to the political machinations of competing parties that with the evidence out there have made their supposition as stated fact only to have it proven false later and never retracted, which makes Trump's comments necessary but mostly ill worded.

100% confidence has nothing to do with accuracy. I prefer the information the CDC puts out.

It doesn't take groups to indicate increased racism nor public figures to say go get them.

It doesn't matter if Chinese is a race or an ethnic group, there can be racism.

At some point the end does not justify the means. When any leader is not truthful with those that person is leading the end is not justified.

201 deaths
15,219 confirmed cases

201 ÷ 15,219 = 1.32% (math)

As for Italy you will find that in addition to having a much older population than the USA they report ANY death at a hospital with coronavirus as a coronavirus death as stated here by an Italian official:
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/global-h...ts-died-italy/

You will find that (deaths ÷ by confirmed cases × 100) will give you the percentage of mortality. I am one of those people who must use a calculator and that the numbers I posted are correct.

The percentages will be differ by country, any statistics are not final and there are concerns about accuracy in every case. There should be no debate about the seriousness of the virus as any degree of justification for not following the guidelines to minimize the spread of the virus.

FYI, I have found that listening to the press conferences of the Governor of New York to be the most informative, straight forward, clear and blunt perspective.

Gov. Cuomo is doing a fantastic job. He has stepped right up to the plate.

I believe that I added (USA) or (Italy), et3 after numbers and percentages, but if not then I apologize for not being clear.

But I do want some people to understand that the USA numbers arenfrom the CDC and where possible I have provided links or searchable data and people's feelings mean nothing when facts are used.

Now about the Chinese coronavirus.... You will see it listed that way at first solely due to standard naming conventions but since China has publicly announced that the United States spread the virus in Wuhan to discredit their BS4 facility (known as an attempted genocide accusation) something that should piss off any American solely for that BS but they should not get upset over the tit-for-tat (aka diplomacy) reminder of where it came from unless Americans would rather turn this into a straight up pissing match with China till we fight a war.
I don't know about anyone else but I have fought in almost every single conflict since Just Cause in 89 till I got my desk job and assignment to Ft. Living room in 2013 and I'm tired, but if need be I'll be back to slitting throats but I'll have to drive there cause screw walking anymore!!!
I only refuse to accept that people would rather forgo Trump's style of "diplomacy" and risk war just because he is unliked except by most muslim countries because as they say "he will deal fair" in Arabic it is said "over the camel's nose".

I do agree about there being racist dicks out there and each of my kids were born abroad Panama, Philippines and Saudi Arabia so I know about being around racist dicks and being the minority but I don't believe we must pretzel our words or logic just to keep folks from having to be grabbed by their stacking swivel for being little twatwaffles.

Lift and shift fire feelings in the open.

Addressing residents ignoring official orders by congregating outside, Cuomo said Sunday: 'This is just a mistake. It's a mistake. It's insensitive, it's arrogant, it's self-destructive, it's disrespectful to other people, and it has to stop. It has to stop now.'

Very powerful message. Let's see if the New Yorkers take notice.

Not going to hold my breath. Only place I've ever been where people seemed to pride themselves on pissing other people off. Almost witnessed a fight just getting off the plane.
