Done a continuity check at both ends of the faulty speed sensor harnesses? Seems strange that none of the abs module attempts would be successful. Has to be something with the harnesses if the sensors have been replaced with new OE units.

I did a continuity test on both front wheels, there was no problem. I have been chasing this problem for over a year but here is an explanation of what's been done

Installed new WSS all around.

Had ABS module rebuilt, twice, and still had trifecta. Then ordered a "tested" rebuilt module from Ebay, threw codes for WSS no signal - on different wheels, figured was defective. Returned and the company only gave me half my money back.

Recently I was having issues with front right only, no signal. I swapped right to the left, and problem followed. I assumed the sensor was bad. Car side connector looked sketchy so soldered in new one and installed another brand new sensor - no change.

Never had an issue with rear WSS, they were both replaced about a year ago, but now pops up.

Sorry about the length, just trying to explain what's been done. If anyone can help me end this nightmare I'd really appreciate it

Those are the only DSC codes I'm getting, all sensors have been replaced

Okay...the sensors themselves are only part of the system. Did you check the wiring to the connector and the pins? Did you do a continuity check? Did you do a voltage drop test? Did you inspect the bearings?

INPA is a far superior scanner. I was able to monitor wheel speed via rotating my suspended tire and see what the module was actually reporting. I eventually needed a repair on my DSC and it's been fixed ever since--but only after the suspect wheel speed sensor was completely gone through.

Okay...now I see your response.

When you try a new module, you need to make sure it is coded correctly before swapping it. The sensors are YEAR specific...to the month build date even. I can help assist with coding the module if you ever get to that point once you have your adapter and laptop setup.

Yes I did a continuity test from the wiring at the WSS, directly to the module connector by finding the correct pin, and inserting a piece of wire. No issues with continuity.

I did not do a voltage drop test, I am not familiar with that, but I will look into it. I'm a DIY guy and this is first BMW I've owned so not that familiar with them yet.

I did not inspect the bearings up front but when I installed the WSS I cleaned out as much as I could where the sensor slides in. I didn't think the bearing was bad because when I swapped sensors the problem followed, and the other side was fine.

I have downloaded INPA and even ordered the cable which I have had for a few months. I tried for hours to get it running on my laptop without luck. My laptop is running windows 8 so I tried running a virtual machine because INPA is older software, still couldn't get it running correctly. Can open up the software, but when connected to car no live info. I have a Foxwell scanner that can give me live info for each WSS and do other things.

I am glad that you got your DSC working, gives me hope lols

The module I ordered from eBay was exact same part number, as well as my original module being same part number, so I do not think they need to be coded.

As long as same part number I believe it's plug and play. Different part number requires the coding.

When driving and go into trans module it has WSS live data and they all change according to speed its shown as wheel RPM vs voltage in ABS module. Also road speed in DGE module works fine. If anyone has an idea why trans module knows speed but speedo not working, and why this would happen please let me know

Not true at all. There are many options that can be used across multiple BMW platforms with the same P/N. In addition, I already mentioned that some parts are build date specific as there can be sub-component part year changes. Coding is very important and cannot be overlooked.

I suggest familiarizing yourself with the vehicle architecture. The TCU would not report all 4 wheel speed sensor data. This is handled by your DSC.

In addition, there are also other options for having a DSC module vs an ABS module. But I'm pretty sure all X5s got DSC of this vintage(not to confuse you, but this is a silly nomenclature thing that some BMWs have different features with across platforms).

In short, I don't trust your scanner. It's nice that it shows some data but would only use it for basic functions. Lets get your INPA working. There are many forums with walk-throughs how to get this working on Windows10.

That Foxwell will re-code a module to the car no problem and do all the deep level scanning you need. Can you photo all your live data and dash?
