I can reach a wrench but I am not sure if I can apply enough power as I am holding the wrench. I also realized today my Tekton torque wrench can only measure torque in one direction so I need to get a new one for proper tightening counter-clockwise. Thanks, Ozzie

Yes, I have that to hold the camshaft. (I had to trim parts of it to be able to move it more freely) Just need a torque wrench that can measure as I tighten counter-clockwise.. Here are a couple of photos to show how the blocks look like.. Cheers, Ozzie

Update :
I was able to tighten the bolts to 60 ft-lb by myself but after that the T55 bit seems to move around a bit and I did not want to slip the bit and make a mess. Andrewwynn was busy dealing with a starter on another Bimmer and he could not help so I will leave it there for now.. My other question is : Knowing that Cylinder 1 is at TDC, I thought I would do a quick leak down test and the result did not look so good. (30% loss) Would that be an accurate result? I am aware the engine is supposed to be warm for the leak down test which would expand and tighten the engine which should lower the loss.. Thanks, Ozzie

No ideas from anyone about the leak down test? I have been testing the other spark plug holes using leak down test and I am seeing up to 50% losses. I can feel slight leak from the intake and took several photos of the intake valves. All I can see is the valves look slightly unsettled. I do not know what to think at this point, may be lifters a sticking a bit and will be corrected once the engine starts working? Thanks, Ozzie

Ozzie, Being slightly out of position on timing would have you leaking down as the valves would be opened where you thought they were closed.
Just a remote possibility. Sent from my SM-A730F using Tapatalk

No he's got the timing good. I just think that with the engine sitting so long there is enough rust on the valves and seats they don't make a tight seal.
Like I said on M62 that blew the chain under power some of the cylinders survived no valve damage even though about 8-10 were bent to hell. I'm convinced that some would show 100% loss (zero seal) if the valve was bent.

Yes, I work very slow and the engine is almost ready to start. I am slightly worried about all the oil settling at the bottom and not having enough oil around the engine although I applied some around the chain guides etc before closing. Is there any way to circulate a bit oil or a start like this should be fine?. Thanks, Ozzie

If you are worried about starting with no recent oil lubrication, unplug the fuel pump relay and crank away.
