Do the rose bush ball joints wear out by mileage, by time or both?

For reference, I think these are the Polish poly bushings for the e53 you referenced below:

Yes, those are the bushings. Significantly less expensive than Powerflex and in my limited experience, just as good. And they make some that Powerflex doesn't.

I think it depends on the road surfaces you drive on and how many miles are on your X5. Time will not really be contributing factor. This is one of the first wear items in the rear followed by the upper arms. Both will ultimately affect the rear camber settings.

Thanks, guys!

When I drove today, I was thinking about the bushings. The suspension does seem a bit loose. I'll wait a few weeks before talking to my mechanic friend to get his opinion. He just had double hernia surgery on Friday.

I'm amazed at the improvement from the Grabber UHP set to the Geolandars. Much smoother and quieter. Naturally, more grip with new rubber.

I'd been on the Grabbers for 15 years, so it's hard to say how much was due to the age. There was about half the tread life left, but the cracks and slow leak led me to change them up.

I recharged the AC last week. I'll start a new thread on that. Used to do it with my friend using proper gauges, but he's out of commission for a while and it's hot in the Southwest!

Edit: Just a note that Discount Tire Direct is having their flash sale again:

Valid today and tomorrow. Seems like a regular promotion. My local Discount Tire was helpful in matching the $100 off. Already got my $80 back from PayPal Business Mastercard and my $70 Yokohama rebate shows approved after just a few days. $250 total off!

From someone who went through the single hernia surgery, your friend will be down for several weeks. That hurt like hell.
