Still a bit strange that DSC was not coded properly with correct ZCS and you had to change the value manually. (4.6is and 4.8is is a different thing as they always have EHC or EHC2)

I think crystalworks had the same issue? Regardless, I’m just glad the error messages are gone.

Yep. My only guess is that when the engine is stipulated as a 4.8 in the ZCS, the DXC gets auto coded for air as there was no such thing as a 4.8 without EHCII so you have to "trick" it to think it's mated to a 4.4i.

But that's just a guess.

Glad you got it sorted. I was unable to find any reference to fixing this issue, excepting on some Russian site, so I think we are the first to delete the EHCII without the use of some module to fool the system. Big thanks to Clavurion for helping me initially get started with coding and for his knowledge.

Please do a DIY. That will take it off my list of things to do. Have been meaning to, but life keeps getting in the way.

So, I'm looking at getting these and am thinking about using the adjustability quite a bit, as driving conditions severely depend on the seasons where I move between home and college. Any idea what the height delta is on these? Like how much higher can you make it than stock? I already saw you said it can go up to 3+ inches lower. I know the "difference" is about 2 inches lower than stock, but is that the max height?

Wellllll - you guys just Rock!!!

I am now a member of the 'EHC-Free Club' - spent most of the day sorting the error warning out from basically scratch, knowledge-wise, but yes - I GOT RID OF IT!!!

Only one odd thing in the aftermath of the success - INPA is saying that my DSC module (DSC57) is not responding - are all the parameters for this set in DXC ECU, as NCSExpert would call it??

Interestingly I didn't need to edit the ZCS at all - because in fact it didn't show up in the 'Show FA' list - the fields were empty! I just edited the FSW_PSW output in Notepad, re-saved it as a .MAN file and coded the DXC and LCM modules back with NCSExpert

The relief when those lights went out....

ZCS on E53 is a code string, not FA list like on newer models.

Ah, well - I was working on this with a guy in Dubai who really expected that list in NCS expert - I just tried coding the modules themselves and hoped for the best

So we will not get this list, like in this YouTube suspension warning delete video with an E60....

In E53 there is no FA list like on E6x. Changing the required bit in older ZCS is all explained in this thread.

I wanted to provide some insight into my experience disabling the "self-leveling suspension inactive / max 35mph" warning. I have a 2004 4.8is that the previous owner converted to a regular coil suspension, but just drove around with the warning. The text flashing every few seconds on the dash was really bothering me, so I went online to figure out how to disable it.

Most threads, with the exception of this one, said that you could simply turn off the check control message for the self-leveling suspension with PA Soft. I didn't have PA Soft, but did have my friend's laptop with NCS Expert, so I turned the check control off in the LCM there. Tried a couple times just in case it didn't go through the first time — no luck. I thought the issue might be using NCS vs PA Soft, even though I didn't see what difference using one software or the other would make, so I installed PA Soft on the laptop, borrowed my friend's PA Soft cable that he managed to find, and disabled the check control messages there — no dice either. Not too surprising, but frustrating. Still not too sure why this method works for other people, but didn't for me.

I then did some deeper reading on this thread and kind of figured out what crystalworks, Clavurion, and purplecty were saying, but was still afraid of bricking a module. So here's the much easier route I ended up taking:
- pull the fuse for the EHC (air suspension) module — fuse 57 in the glovebox
- go into the DXC module using NCS Expert (with NCS Dummy) and change the parameter of the first thing for the DXC that popped up in NCS Dummy to wert_01 (per Clavurion here: https://xoutpost.com/1193080-post63.html)
- that's it!

The much more knowledgeable people in this thread have already described it, but I figure I'll put a quick explanation here: simply pulling fuse 57 causes the 4x4/ABS/DSC trifecta to pop up because the DXC module is coded to look for a car with air suspension installed. By recoding the DXC module to wert_01, you're telling the DXC module to look instead for AUTOMATIK+(M62B44,N62B44)+!LFEDER_2_ACHS+!SICH_FZG _UM (a car with an automatic transmission, a 4.4L M62 or 4.4L N62, no air suspension, and not a security vehicle). Technically speaking, the 4.8is has an N62B48 has a 4.8L, so not sure if this affects anything with the DSC performance-wise (probably not), but there's no option for a B48 car with no air suspension as all N62B48 cars were 4.8is with air suspension as standard equipment.

So yeah — big thanks to everyone in this thread who contributed and helped me figure this out. I understand that pulling the fuse and only coding the DXC isn't the 100% correct method that crystalworks did, but I don't mind there being an error in INPA for now. Perhaps in the future I'll properly code the ZCS in the EWS and KMB as well — for now, I'm just happy the annoying message isn't coming up every few seconds.

I spent entirely too much time figuring this out, so hopefully this helps someone!
