Questions to who uses ibus app with android headunit
1. won't recognize iBus interface When I start the car, 8 out of 10 times, ibus-app doesn't recognize the UBS interface is connected. As result, DSP amp is not triggered, and speaker volume is very poor, and some of other ibus related functions don't work either, such as triple blink. Have you guys experience this? Is there a setting somewhere I can change to make sure the ibus-app connects to USB interface? 2. high cluster display while navigating mp3 from steering control Prior to installing xtrons, I had FM presets with various radio frequencies. After installing xtrons, when I use steering control to navigate mp3s, it displays memorized radio presets on the high cluster. Is there any ways to correct this? Also, I recall seeing from somewhere that navigating mp3 tracks actually displays song title in the high cluster display. What is the setting in the ibus-app that enables this function? Thanks!! |

Anyone had intermittent USB interface not recognizing issue?
As for displaying song titles in the high cluster display, I was reading through ibus-app manual, and found that functionality depends on what mp3 app it uses. So I downloaded an app called "Music Player - MP3 Player" and it does display song titles in the high cluster. Now the down side is, it doesn't support steering wheel control. With xtrons installed Music app -> works with steering control, but doesn't display song title in the high cluster. When navigating songs, high cluster displays radio presets. New downloaded Music app -> no steering control, but displays song title in the high cluster, and no more radio presets. Just cannot be perfect.... Does anyone know how to setup downloaded music app to work with steering wheel control? |

One more thing, poor radio reception.
I ran the 6ft radio antenna extension from trunk to headunit, but still radio reception is not good. Have anyone experience that? Do I need this to get better radio reception? https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00...IK6Y9EEQB&th=1 Last edited by white46; 05-29-2020 at 12:24 PM. |

Sorry I can't be of help, I use an Avin Avant 4 with no issues at all on radio reception and I have never tried putting song titles in my high cluster with my iBus app. There may be members that run a XTrons and hopefully they will chime in.

Wondering, so if you scroll mp3s using steering wheel control, what actually gets displayed on high cluster?

Are you asking me? I don't have any MP3 files on my system. I use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto to listen to music besides the normal radio channels.

Thanks. So when using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, do you use steering control to navigate songs? Next/Previous track?

Yes, on Apple CarPlay for sure. When my Android is on its usually net based radio like I heart radio

Thanks. So high cluster treats it like navigating radio stations. I guess there is no way around this?

I don't know what I did but my Avant4 shows any song on highcluster, even radio stations - I love it! The only issue I have is it doesn't automatically connect to my iphone's wifi. I have to open settings->Personal Hotspot on my iphone for avant4 to tether. Sometimes the auto-connect wifi is off without me turning it off - so annoying. I might have to get its own dedicated wifi (the one that's connected to the OBD port).
