Whats my x5 worth? In an enthusiast eyes
NOT A FOR SALE POST(as to not break the rules on my first post)
Looking to get some opinions on the value of my 4.8is as I cant seem to find any even close in condition and mileage on the market in terms of pricing my own. Very lightly tossing around the idea of listing it in the future but want to get some enthusiasts opinions on the real value, rather than kbb ruining my day Onto the car. I have a 2006 x5 4.8is imola red/nappa black with every available option aside from running boards, (premium and cold weather package). Ive swapped out the problematic air suspension for bc coilovers and absolutely love them although have the air components in storage still. Also added h&r DRA spacers all the way around so the fitment and stance is impeccable. Aside from many others I've seen listed, mine has approx 62k miles on it which seems to me to be the lowest by a large margin unofficially "on the market". I would rate the exterior an 8/10 with only one substantial scratch on the rear driver door maybe a half inch long. Pass and rear seats are 10/10 and driver seat 8/10 with minor wear. Every works perfectly as it should aside from the nav screen has 2 pixelated spots on it but works otherwise. No leaks/ weird noises etc. All in all fantastic shape. I searched far and wide for one in this condition but will be buying a house in the near future. Again would just like some ball park ideas of what it could be worth in the community to encourage me to actually list it here. I'm no stranger to bmw as I also have an f13 m6 and sold a e92 m3. So it does pain me to even bring up this topic. Thanks ahead. |

Sadly they are all over the board, some soar on BAT, others go on Autotrader, etc etc, but anywhere from maybe $12,000 to whatever someone might give you for it

My sense is that it is a thin market so what you get really depends on how patient you can be, waiting for that right buyer to come along.
If you have to sell fast, you might be lucky to get $10k unless someone who really appreciates what it is and its condition sees it - then you might get over $20k.

I picked mine up in Seattle 2yrs ago for $11,500 w/101k miles on it (‘06 w/imola), but immediately dumped $5k more into it for AGA coolant pipe, VSS, timing cover gaskets, and VCG.
Another similar one (‘05 imola w/ black Napa w/85k) went for $15,500 to someone in Chicago. Not sure if these comps help, but could be useful? Will be hard to let go, I’m sure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Not gonna lie. The 'is along with much of the E53 market in general is cold.
New/Off lease Luxury SAVs are at a premium, but aged ones are ignored it seems. (Thank you US tax laws?) An 'is is no cheap car to own, but values sure aren't reflecting that. Even the E70 X5M is falling into sad territory. The # of E53 'is produced and E39 M5's are low, but so much more likely to see a prime M5, yet almost never an E53.

In an effort to figure out this forum and respond to everyone here at once. It does have full pano roof but no factory trailer hitch( good point I had forgotten). As it seems this is a widely varying rabbit hole im going down i appreciate everyone's input. If i do list it yall will be the first to know. Unless anyone wants to slide some generous offers my way before that time of course
