I'm lost...

Can someone maybe help me think of what is wrong with this car? Hahaha

Start it and it has the "trifecta" three yellow lights (brake light, ABS light and the DSC light).

Drive for 5 seconds in either direction and all the lights go off and stay off until you shut it off and then they return again on each start. They stay on until you move in either forward or reverse. After moving, the lights turn off and DSC works perfectly and you can engage it and disengage it all you want.

I've scanned it and it shows no errors with any modules related to ABS/DSC. At one point in time it showed all three due to bad wheel speed sensors (replaced them), bad brake pad sensors (bypassed by joining wires and shrink tubing) and a broken SAS brush (Repaired brush and reassembled and reset SAS with INPA).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
It just bothers me that I've put so much time and more money into the car than it's worth to not have it performing correctly.

Photos don't show the two lights on the right but you should get the idea if you're on this site.

Its really only a guess...

Did you use a good quality ABS sensor? OEM/ Siemens/VDO ? If some other brand maybe one of them is slow to report.

It also seems like a lazy steering angle sensor, I know you said you rebuilt/reset it.

Have you looked at live data using INPA on ABS Sensors and SAS?

I did use a good quality speed sensor and INPA is right on the money. Everything seems perfect as far as that goes. I guess I could try replacing the SAS, maybe my repair job isn't quite 100% even though it seems like it.

How is your battery/ alternator?

My battery went dead not long ago. The truck sat for a while this winter and the battery went flat. I charged it and all was well for several months up until a few weeks ago. While driving home I got the trans fails safe error message (OH F&$*) The next day the battery was totally flat. I got a replacement installed but this time I got the trifecta along with the trans fails safe error message again, light flickering etc. I tested the voltages and the alternator was not charging. I got a replacement and all is well.

My symptoms were nothing like yours but all kinds of odd thing happened when running low on voltage. Might be worth looking into

Thanks for the input MileHighIS it's had the trifecta issue since I've purchased it a year or so ago. I've also tested the charging system recently and all is well. Battery is about a month old. The battery had died when I had the car down for a timing and Vanos job. I didn't bother with it till the job was done and just had the battery replaced with a warranty. It may have interfered with the electrical system but I don't think so. I think Effduration might be right about the SAS. I just won't have time to swap the SAS till Friday. Stupid busy work week. I have a replacement I am planning to throw in there. It just struck me as odd considering INPA shows no issues with anything and the steering position live data seems flawless. Ill swap it out and if that doesn't work, I'll retest the charging system.

Could this be the plastic gear stripping inside the actuator motor?
If so, the fix is free, just flip the gear around 180 degrees...

It doesn't have a transfer case actuator if that's the one you're referring to cn90.

Not criticizing but if you put your model year and model X (3.0 or 4.4, or 4.6, or 4.8) it would help with the reply.

Duh, did you get it scan?

Well if the person forgets to mention that, two clicks onto the person's profile will give you that info. Also like I stated in previous posts, yes I scanned it. No problems...

It sounds like the system isn't passing it's initial check and when it sees a signal from what ever sensor CIRCUIT is initially failing, the lights go out. Maybe you can check/read data/codes before lights go out?
