Digital Audio Cable Location for BlueBus

OK... I must be having a "doh" moment... I was under the impression that all I needed to do was pop the amp out, plug in the digital audio cable and wha-la! my BlueBus would be digital audio instead of analog.

My issue, I can't seem to find for the life of me where I need to plug that in, there is no other port\plug on the amp aside from the large bundle of wires that plug directly in to the top of it.

What am I missing? Thanks in advance!!

Looks like I am running amp P/NO 65. 12-8 379 376, which should be the Alpine Hi-Fi Amplifier and for the life of me I do not see a digital output connector on it?

I have the DSP system, but am not sure of AMP part number as I've never looked it up. Anyhow, this is where the gold coaxial connector attaches to my amp.
Ignore the hanging amp and extra wires (for my external sub amp.

Digital Audio Cable Location for BlueBus

Thanks Clockwork!

Well shucks ☹️

May have a new one for Ted, I’ve been all over mine and it just does not have that connection. I was really hoping I had gone cross eyed and was looking at the wrong thing... bummer.

Hmm, wonder what I do now because I can confirm that the analog audio is considerably less crisp than just using the plan old aux port I installed a few years back.

Edit: Though I do enjoy the steering wheel controls...

Hey Purple! Sorry to say but your part number is indeed for an amp but NOT for a DSP amp. That would be why you don't see the port. Does your head unit show DSP under settings and what happens when you choose it?

Nope, no DSP in my car but I knew that going in. Ted seemed to think all I needed was the cable to use the digital input on the existing amp by sadly, pulling it out and turning it every which way but loose... yielded no digi connector.

Now I’m super bummed as using it in analog really isn’t an option, I can’t stand the volume jump before it levels off when receiving an in coming call or the fact that my simple aux port yields better sound quality ☹️

Appreciate you guys confirming, seems I will need to reach out to Ted and see what my options are, if my option is only analog... I’m really going to miss my steering wheel controls... and yea... it’s only $30 but I just dropped that $30 on a digi cable I can’t use...

What about re-pinning the connector and adding a used DSP amp and recoding your radio? Still elegant if possible.

Wife would beat me to death if I spent another 200/300$ on this thing... Between my Eibacjs, Bilateins, Bushings and everything else (and being unemployed at the moment), I’d be sleeping in the thing...

Solid idea though for sure, time and funds permitting.

I hate to stir the pot, but a used DSP amp is about $150....or maybe a few trips to a junk yard will get you one for peanuts....

I’ll probably go that route... hold on to it for now, lock my wounds so to speak, didn’t really want to drop $500... on Bluetooth connectivity and grab a DSP amp when I’m back to gainful employment.

Still real bummed though. I emailed Ted, just to see what my options are, maybe there’s some fine tuning that can be done on the analog side of he house to make it “less” DSP centric. Fingers crossed for now.

Appreciate the help

(If you know anyone tossing out a good DSP amp, send it my way 🤪&#129322
