1st let's check your e53. What's the last 7 of your ViN say? Try mdecoder.com as it seems to have the easiest interface to pull all your options from the factory. Then we can go from there.

Well crap... it looks like they are becoming a pay site.
Try Vincheck.info but they ask for all 17 digits. Sent from my SM-A730F using Tapatalk

Silly question, but did you use wiring harness adapter between the radio and the car? I only ask that because the amp trigger wire is usually called out, or are you “hard wiring” this in!
I realize that doesn’t help but you might jump on cruthfield and look at one of their harnesses and see if you can count the pin out, that should point you to the amp trigger wire in the factory harness. Sent from my iPhone using Xoutpost.com |

On a car with DSP you need some software on the head unit to communicate with the DSP amp, instructing it to turn on. This can be done with an app called iBus, along with the Resler iBus USB adapter.
iBus - https://www.ibus-app.de/index_en.html USB interface - Resler IBUS Interface Since you haven't got DSP, you should be able to sort this electrically... see the below.

Hi Tony, I had the same problem and fixed it. I connected the white wire that plugs into the factory amp to the blue APM wire on the radio harness.
This is the plug that goes in the factory AMP, number 2 = white = remote turn on. You can connect 12v from the battery to see if it works. |
