E53 LU43xxx VIN Decoding fails?

Hi,

I've been trying to VIN decode my E53 for the past few days but for some reason I can't get my VIN or anything in the LU43xxx (last 7 digits) range to work. I tried Googling for an E53 VIN and found WBAFA12030LW10075 from an auction site or something. It works fine?! Interesting thing is that car is an '06 but its VIN starts with WBA. Based on other threads it seems like only the '00 and '01 cars were WBA and then BMW switched to 5UX. My VIN starts with 5UX. I'm using mdecoder.com but I've tried many other sites and it just won't work. Seems like BMW started reusing last 7 digits of VINs in mid-2019 but none of the sites will pull up a different car so I don't think that's the issue. Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks

I tried to add a screenshot but it said too many characters? Here is the text:

I decoded my VIN again just now at https://decoder.bvzine.com

Try using your full VIN on there.

Did not work for me right now when I tried it. I think if you have put your VIN into these in the past when they were working... it will work now (maybe it's cached or something), but anything new doesn't.

Weird... it works with realoem

or other part search but it does not want to decode the vin. I tried 3 different options.

If you sign up on bmwusa and go to my garage, you can add the vehicle and it will show you options and open recalls. It's not as easy as decoders, and doesn't give you option codes, but will last least show equipped options. Supposed to own the vehicle but I don't see how they'd check that. Or waste the time.

I believe these VIN checkers do not work anymore as of mid-2019 since BMW started to reuse VIN numbers...

Interesting. Thanks for the help. I can click on any vin decoder link from forums and it will open right up but mine won't work. I guess it must be cached like you said. I'll try out the bmwusa website. Weird part is even the decoders that ask for the full VIN don't work so I don't think it's an issue with the new cars reusing last 7 digits. Only thing I can think of is that the database they are using just takes the last 7 even if you give the full VIN.
