Why not drop some monsoon subs in? Should be a direct swap?

Purplecty, if you are asking me, it's because a single 10" sub will sound better than two 6" subs

Oh I 100% agree that any 10 inch aftermarket with a good amp will sound much better. I may experiment with the monsoons...

The Monsoons will not be direct fit so you will have to modify the sub enclosure to accept the 4 screws as opposed to 3 from BMW speakers

Ok that shouldn't be too difficult. I dont want to steer this thread in the wrong direction so I will create a new one when I do this... I'd prefer a 10inch but will see if the monsoons provide any kind of improvement. Are the doors 6inch mids as well?

How do you think two 8” subs would sound in a slim profile box against the rear seat?

Only mod required would be extending the wires.

We run a single 8” in my sons CRV, box built and ported specifically for the 8”, and I’m here to say a single 8” sounds amazing! Doesn’t go as low as my single 10”, but wow it thumps. Would imagine two would be awesome but I would question what ohm load they would put on the factory amp, I think CW said the 6.5” were duel vc if I read that right.

Modifying factory sub box enclosure for 10" sub

Yeah! I’ve always had a special place for 8” subs! The link I posted rates them as dual voice coils 8 ohms, at 100 watts rms. That is pretty much inline with the factory ratings.

They have 10’s as wel but, at 6 ohms. Those could create heat.
