Huge oil leak from drivers side front. Picture. Fixed.
I have to pull out my USB flexible camera tomorrow and see if I can see where its coming from. Its not drips, it is a steady flow/stream of oil. Any ideas? Last edited by fixture5150; 10-03-2020 at 03:05 PM. |

In North America you can buy an enzyme product called *Oil Eater and spray it on your cold engine then rinse with a hose. It will look like a brand new engine before oil was added and will help you find the leak pretty easily. Run your engine while parked, don't drive it so air flow won't spread it....
*Don't use on glass or HOT aluminum due to discoloration occurring. Sent from my SM-A730F using Tapatalk

Just check the power steering reservoir. If it is low you found the leak.

Take off left front wheel (assuming you are left hand drive) many many people on xoutpost "driver side " is right.
The alternator bracket is right at the alternator and will leak like a morning piss; I had to use a quart of oil to drive a block an en left a continuous streak on the ground. Check the dipstick to confirm oil vs PS fluid.

Thanks all. Will check today in the wheel well (LHD).
Called my mechanic just in case and he said to bring it in and he would check if it really is the bracket. Will have to tow it the 1 mile since oil is flowing like andrewwynn had. |

Huge oil leak from drivers side front. Picture.
If the bracket it takes about a pint per block. Simply stunning. I had my car (m64) leak almost that fast when mechanic forgot to change the oil filter o-ring.
Can't mechanic stop by on his way to work. Have the front when off it's a shit ton less work than towing.

High pressure oil lines going into the block? I chased this ghost for months and ironically showed up after valve cover change and on DS. First time was the valve covers not being seated then replaced and still leaking mind you not as bad as yours but enough to see it.
Did the same as you and pulled out handy mirrors and sure enough the bugger was leaking at block the o ring was bad. Now mine is a 4.6 so just giving you another option. |
