Window Control Switch path

So, what was going to be a simple regulator/motor change on the son's X5 now has me stumped.

The main power plug on the window control switch (driver, non-dip) had the jack-slide broken off (previously) so using a plastic molding tool was prying it off & the two wires for window motor touched & sparked.
- disconnected battery (was trying to be quick about it & avoid as I did for passenger side).
- checked fuses 20 & 24, & 20 was blown.
- After replacing fuse, that control switch still won't work while the other 3 do.

New replacement switch from Amazon & still won't work. Have checked other window lift fuses (even swapped), but no joy.

Is one of the gang breakers on back of fuse box related? Where else?

Seriously, what else is in the path to be checked? I've gone through both fuse blocks & no progress. Not that many wires here...

Confirmed with meter, no power to switch (wires in door), but seat works. Not seeing related relays or other fuses documented ??

I'm glad you got it figured out, just came across your thread. Maybe got a little hot from getting shorted out and got brittle and broke.

As long as you heated up the metal hot enough so you dont get a cold solder it should last for a long time.
