Current Value Thread

I thought I would throw this out for conjecture and observation. The responses (if any!) I guess will reflect regional differences, and changing markets.

I posted for 2 reasons. What I am seeing right now are any used cars seems to be in high demand, so prices may be up, and I am considering selling my own 2004 3.0 6 speed manual.

It would be interesting to know what people are buying and selling E53's for currently. Thanks!

Your car sounds good. If I needed another car ...

BTW, I similarly read that used car prices had been going up, which seems odd given a slowing economy and many people working from home or not working. How can that be? Well ...

I saw that the CEO of Autozone said he thought it was because lots of people are afraid of taking mass transit due to virus fears. So those people are looking for a pretty cheap used car to fill that need. And places like Autozone see an uptick in sales due to people fixing and maintaining those older cars. Makes sense to me.

Good luck with any sale.

Thanks. I don't want to sell, but I need a truck, and am at the point where if I buy anything, something has to go!

I love my X5. It has 197k on the clock, and looks, rides, handles and runs great. 5k miles on a quart of oil, clutch, brakes all excellent. It could pass for having 50k on it. I know the 6 speed has a following, so really don't know what to think about pricing it yet.

Just to give you an idea, I just bought my 2005 3.0, 6-speed Manual 190k miles for $2500 bucks, Sport pkg, No nav, HK audio. it didnt need anything but a good detail, but of course it needed all the maintenance but I could have drove it the way it was no issues.

You can get a good sense of pricing via cars.com or autotrader. I haven't found a regional difference. As always, miles and condition are the primary variables.
