BBA Reman ? ABS modules - out of business ?

Hi - my ABS module is with BBA Reman in Taunton, MA. I dropped it off 10 days ago, and they said 4-5 business days. they have rebuilt 4-5 ABS modules for me.

Since I live nearby, I dropped in today and noticed that they are closed and sign on the front says the property has been seized by the local Sheriff’s department- generally not a good sign..

does anybody know what’s going on with BBA Reman ?

Damn that can't be good. I used to always refer people to BBA Reman but they did not respond to any of my messages through eBay, so I had to go with another highly recommended company out of California called modulerepairpro and they did a great job! I would take a pic of the sign and call your local sheriff's department to see if you can at the very least recover your module.

Update:

Called BBA Reman’s Canadian office to see if they could tell me...no answer

Also called the Sheriff...yes the business in Taunton, MA has been seized, but could not tell me why. He said I should call back in a week and see about getting my parts back.

There was a post on Facebook that reported police and FBI surrounding the shop as it went down. Not sure about validity, no other confirmation.

JIC. As you all know there are multiple vendors on Ebay offering module repair and I got my ABS module fixed a year ago at Auto & Truck Electronics LLC, on Ebay as AutoECU1. Physically in West Palm Beach, Fla but shipping there and back was not an issue. Roundtrip was 1 week IIRC. They also offer replacements for modules that cannot be repaired (@$425).

EDIT: My 3-yr warranty with the lot above turned out not to help. They fixed some stuff but could not bring it back to life. I asked for a discount on a refurbed unit which they declined. I had them send the unit back to me.

Next chapter, sent it to Ebay seller "modulerepair". Very responsive and knowledgeable. Look at my module and said CPU contained irreversible error codes. Shipped me a replacement for $225 which I coded to the car and all is well. (I documented elsewhere on XO that after writing the VIN to the ABS module with NCSE, I had to calibrate the steering angle sensor (in ISTA-D) to get it to work. W/o calibrating the SAS, the tri-fecta did not turn off. YMMV)

Update:

I thought my ABS Module which I left with BBA Reman was gone. When the Sheriff had control of the BBA offices, I was let in with a dozen other people (one at a time) to look for my module, which I could not find.

Lo and behold I get a call from someone at BBA Reman...They are back in business at same location and have techs doing the work. They found my module, which had not been fixed, and they fixed it this week. I am picking it up today.

That is great news! I wonder if the business was purchased?

What is BBA's going rate?

I'm caught between BBA and module masters. Any better recommendations?

BBA was my goto until their recent negative reviews and shut down. Now I use Moduler Repair Pro.
