Door function control module preventing sleep mode, power drain.
I was already noticing some problems related to the driver side door with fuse in (and thus some of the following may be the underlying issue). With fuse IN; - Can’t lock driver side door with key fob, have to insert key manually. - Driver window is always “active”, even with car off no matter what the condition is and other driver-side window controls follow expected conditions. I can always roll up or down the driver window no matter what. - Car doesn’t enter sleep mode - Passenger side mirror frequently “twitches” like it’s trying to adjust itself with no input. With fuse OUT: - Notably, car can enter sleep mode and parasitic drain is no more - Security system doesn’t arm - Obviously can’t use any window switches on driver side, and still have to manually lock Seems to me to be an electronic issue. any guidance on how to proceed? |

I have a feeling it's the driver door switch module. Unplug just that module put the fuse back in

I removed the master switch component and now
-Car goes to sleep - Alarm system arms I’ll try to go to a junkyard at next opening and see if replacing the component does it. or if it’s something further down the line. Thanks for the guidance so far |

You can open up the box there is likely just some corrosion you can clean off.
The problem with scrap parts is it's a design flaw and many of the cars have the same problem. When window open an rain gets in. It is literally funneled to the door switxh PCB. I've rebuilt a few of them when the window fails to go down or up.

The DLA is the only thing I think is down stream but you could unplug just it and do the same test.

you were exactly right. I opened up that switch board and it had already been TAMPERED with. must have been from previous owner, with new problems showing up now... Ended up going w the scrap parts and all electronics are working as expected, the door even locks with the key fob now (was planning an actuator swap...)! Thank you for the guidance the last couple days |

Any time I take a door apart I cut the bottom corner of the switch module off. Every one I've worked on had corrosion inside

Good information. Mine has a "Deactivation criterion for window operation: error". So it won't sleep. The battery was changed out on Feb 6. No sleep mode was first noticed then. Mid Feb we had we had the huge snow storm! All that snow melted! Plus it has rained like crazy since then too. A new door module switch is cheap. I think I'll order a new one. I'll follow up my no sleep post and link to this one.

Cut the bottom corner off before installing. It's a design flaws that water will pool on the circuit board from the smallest amount to that comes in the window (think: going through drive thru)
