Even if she have fuel, spark and compression the engine will not start if the plugs are wet. The fact that the battery was only 1 year old and she ran it flat tells me she been trying to start the engine for quite sometime. Since she wasn’t s aware of the flood mode she just made it worse. I have already told her that by starting the engine, moving the truck just 3’ and shutting it down for the night the engine is probably flooded. My advice right now is to tow it to a shop and let them fix it.

Thank you StephenVA. The battery is brand new just bought yesterday and I have a battery maintainer to help keep it charged. I will use these steps to weed out the problem. As I said originally, this happened right after fixing the driver door handle. The car was running fine up until then. Coincidence that this happened? I'm not sure. I'm not going to dignify anymore of the snide comments with a response. I know my way around cars, as a matter of fact I owned and maintained a SAAB. Talk about a bitch of a car to work on. I'm not even broke down where I live. I'm 45 minutes from there. This so called camping trip is not the kind of camping I do. Again thank you for the tutorials and steps. I hope to get her back on the road soon and head home.

The only one making snide remarks on this thread is YOU. You don't even know me, but you sent me a PM that is laced with expletives. Calling someone "Honey" when you don't know, but having interact with you I guess I can call you "Bitch". I don't expect you to reply to this post since you already stated that you won't be replying to these type of post.

Good Luck Fixing the BM Trouble U.

Most people don't get it as they think "I never even touch the gas pedal, I just turned the key". They don't realise that the injectors pulse every time the key is turned to "ON". Dirty plugs, wet plugs they just ground out the plug secondary ignition and presto no start condition. Pull the plugs and out pours gas on cranking. Let is sit long enough and the oil pan shows 1 more Qt. Now you have the opportunity for a big bang!

Is this the problem? Who knows, as we all are far away from seeing, hearing and testing the car.

Hopefully she will get it sorted out and operational soon. Good luck out there!

Since the X started with no problem before, and she just completed the repair to the door and move the car 3' before shutting it off for the night, I am 99.9% sure that she flooded the engine. The other .1% is the cam sensor that she replaced. Perhaps she bought the wrong sensor or a cheap Made in China crap from eBay or Amazon. Who knows why she changed the cam sensor. She never gave a reason for changing the cam sensor. Was it because she didn't have spark?

Don't know, do not want to guess any more on owner actions. I will wait until she responds back with testing results and or it becomes another dead string.

Maybe she's just getting good crank but no fuel is going into the engine?

What about a bad fuel pump?

That happened to me once on an E30. I used to drive it down to the last gallon before filling up and the mechanic who worked on it said I burned out the fuel pump because it's dry spinning because it can't suck in any fuel and the motor overheats and dies.

Their recommendation is to always fill up the gas tank when it's down to 1/4. That way when the car turns and the fuel gets swung up side ways it doesn't create a slight moment of air pocket that allows the fuel pump motor to suck in air instead of fuel.

yep could be suction pump (Transfer) gone so when the tank reaches 1/2 to 1/3 left there is no transfer in the fuel saddle tank to the primary pump side (Driver's side in the US). Test is simple add 4-5 gals of gas and see if you now have fuel pressure.

Test fuel pressure was on the list posted.

She stated that she can hear the pump running when she first turn on the ignition switch.
