PA Soft 1.4

Looking to get a copy of PA Soft 1.4. I came across this one on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/iSaddle-Scann.../dp/B008RHJTS2

I can't tell, does this come with the PA Soft 1.4 software as well or is it just a tool with a proprietary software? If this isn't a good one, which would you recommend for my X?

Hey,

I had the same kind of package and the CD supplied didn't have a working soft on it.
I got a working copy from here:

So if I have an OBD2 to usb, with the ELM327 chip, do I need to buy a new one or do I just need to solder the pins (if necessary)

Pretty sure you need this supplied adapter. I have one (looks like the one you linked to), a "proper" OBD K-line adapter (with the genuine FTDI chipset), a generic ELM327 and a KKL409 adapter (used with VW) - only the supplied BMWScaner adapter will work with PA Soft 1.4 - any other adapter is not detected/connected.

wpoll is right, it must be the supplied adapter, I've tried a handful, just out of curiosity, and none but the actual "BMWScanner" adapter actually work.

Okay cool. So does that PA Soft download link need activation or is it already activated? And does this support Bluetooth adapters, or is that not really a thing that exists for this type of application

PA Soft is basically install and use, no activation required, with regard to the Bluetooth, no, it requires the specific cabled connector. (At least in all of my looking I have never seen \ found a BT adapter that will work with it.)

I'm trying to find one for cheaper than what I am seeing, unless that's irrealistic. How much did you pay for yours? And are there any keywords other than "bmwscanner 1.4," or "pa soft 1.4" that I should be looking up?

The one you linked is pretty cheap... you'll find it cheaper on eBay or AliExpress but it will ship from China.... Happy to wait...?

If you're wanting it specifically on amazon, I did find this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...N5LBRRL2&psc=1

It shows the pins 7&8 soldered together. Looks like it ships from CN tho... :/
