I think I am going to change out the stock resonator for an Xpipe and then have the cutouts as a dump like bcredliner. I HATE not having my exhaust come out of some sort of tip, but I would like a bit more volume at times so having the cutouts after the X-pipe as dumps would accomplish that. And maybe then I'd actually use the cutouts every now and then.

Here's what it sounds like currently:

X5 exhausts

The grey 4.4 N62 is running Corsa mufflers.

Dinan exhaust w/ cutouts

I have long since fixed the exhaust leak shown in the video.
You have an N62 4.8iS right? Will you go with a 2.5 inch x-pipe?

Yes, mine is a 4.8. I haven't gotten underneath the truck in awhile with calipers to check the OE pipe size at the resonator. Was going to do some forum trolling instead, someone has to have posted the ID and OD of the exhaust pipe. *fingers crossed*

Hey thats me!
The 4.4i uses 2.25'' stock but I used a 2.5inch Xpipe, welded on with 2.25'' to 2.5inch adapters because a 2.25'' X pipe was hard to find around here.
