4.6iS Throttle Potentiometer Errors

I have a friend who just swapped the trans in his 02 4.6iS and after the X5 will start up and die out immediately with throttle potentiometer errors that cannot be cleared. Prior to the swap the truck started and ran perfectly. He swapped in a spare throttle body and pedal with no changes. Any ideas what could have caused this during the swap? Wiring got pinched? The battery was disconnected while the swap was being done. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Pretty sure someone else had this exact problem after a transmission swap and it was a sensor issue from turning the crank by hand throwing the position sensor out of whack.

Going off memory so take it with a grain of salt! I am over 50...

Do you recall if they also had the potentiometer errors after the swap?

I don't believe so, I think it was CPS but it didn't register duebto non-start.
