When I look at the cluster I can't even see the "cutout" where the light would shine through. I can make out the rest of them but no SES or CEL to be seen. Even if the led was removed or someone used tape to cover it I should be able to notice where it used to live |

Fresh transfer case fluid for the Bastard
The straw on these containers is pretty cool but I can never get it positioned in a way to get more than half of the fluid out but this meat syringe works great. As expected the old fluid was long overdue and it had a little bling in there but nothing I haven't seen before. |

Make sure to reset your TC clutches after changing the fluid.

I've only got through five pages so far, but I have a few thoughts on why you don't have a CEL.
It's called the EU2 flash. I've seen this done by people before - they flash the Euro 2 tune, which removes the CEL-on conditions for all emissions-related errors. Unfortunately, it also removes the CEL-on condition for... well, everything. Another thing that I thought of was related to your misfire. In my X5, I had many of the same issues - it would be intermittent, even after changing the plugs and coils. I eventually chased it down to the DME itself. Seems there is not a very good weather seal around the DME box. Once I replaced that (any used MS43 DME will do, then you can eliminate the EWS) it was fine again.
